In an ideal world
The last two weeks have really strayed from the designated route! This is mainly to do with being ill, which always seems to come at inappropriate times. I have done a load of web research, as this can be done with the dozy head that being sick brings. This has mainly involved trolling through three websites: http://cain.ulst.ac.uk/ , http://www.bbcmotiongallery.com and http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/default.stm . Some of the footage on the On This Day BBC website is great as it is often in a very rough cut form, without voice over. This can allow you to view the footage in a more objective way. Another site I have revisited has been: http://www.archive.org/movies/prelinger.php that has a wealth of wide ranging footage.
One of the main objectives of the last two weeks was to contact the BBC in Belfast to gain access to their archives. I have not contacted anyone yet as I have not had the right frame of mind to speak as intelligently as I can. So this is to be left to the start of next week, this delay has paid off to some extent as I’m now clearer as to what event footage I’m asking to get access to. I feel the main thing for me is to re-motivate myself over the next few days now that I’m feeling a bit better. Sickness is a waste of space!
